가령, "What's gotten into him lately? He's such a grump." 하면 "저 친구 요즘 왜 그러지?불만이 많군. " 이 되며, "What's gotten into him lately? He must be in love." 하면 "그가 요즘 왜 그러지?
사랑에 빠졌나 봐. " 가 된다.
"What's gotten into him lately?" 와 비슷한 표현에 "What's his problem these days?" " Why is he acting strange lately?" "He has not been himself lately?" 등이 있다.
