<영어하루한마디>둘 중 아무거나 좋습니다

Either will do 『둘 중 아무 것이나 좋습니다.』라고 할 때의 적절한 영어 표현에 『Either will do.』가 있다.여기서 do는 「충분하다(=be sufficient)」의 뜻이다.가령『밥이 없으면 라면도 좋아.』라고 하려면 『If there's no steamed rice, ramyeon will do.』하면 되고 『파란 타이나 빨간 타이 아무것이나 좋아.』라고 하려면 『A blue tie or a red one,either will do.』라고 하면 된다.『Either will do .』와 비슷한 표현에 『Both arethe same.』『There's no difference.』『It doesn't matter.』등이 있다.참고로 셋 이상중에서 『아무 것이나 좋습니다.』라고 하려면 『Anythingwill do.』라고 하 면 된다.
A:Which tie do you think goes better with this suit,the blue one orthe red one? B:Either will do.
A:Are you sure? B:Yes,I'm positive. A:In that case,I think I'll wear this blue one.
