“통근 시간이 얼마나 걸립니까?”는“How long is your commute?”라고 한다.

여기서'commute'는 명사로'통근할때 걸리는 시간'을 말하는데,“You're always having a hard time getting to work in time.How long is your commute?”하면“항상 시간 맞춰 출근하느라 애쓰시는군요.통근 시간이 얼마나 걸립니까?”라는 뜻이다.“How long is your commute?”와 비슷한 표현에“Howlong does it take you to get to the office?”“How long does it takeyou to get to work?”등이 있다.'commute'는 동사로'통근하다'는 뜻으로도 쓰이는데“I commutefrom Incheon to Seoul.”하면“저는 인천에서 서울까지 통근합니다.”라는 뜻이다.
