Sun Ten Pharmaceutical Company, the first manufacturer of scientific concentrated Chinese herbal medicine in Taiwan, was founded in 1946 by Dr. Hong-yen Hsu who is known as "Father of Scientific Concentrated Chinese Herbal Medicine." Sun Ten passed the GMP inspection to become the first manufacturer of scientific concentrated Chinese herbal medicine in 1988. Sun Ten´s Taichung plant has a fully automatic production system and a QC Lab fully equipped with HPLC and TLC for strict quality control.

In 1972 Sun Ten established the Brian Research Institute of Taiwan for the purpose of developing the knowledge and technical know-how about natural herbal medicine and dietary supplements especially for the scientific modernization of Chinese herbal medicine. In 1976, Oriental Healing Art Institute was also set up in Los Angeles. It is dedicated to promoting and elevating Chinese herbal medicine to the international level and to share its accomplishment in Chinese herbal medicine with the medical and pharmaceutical circles all over the world.
