"꼭 때맞춰 오다. " 라고 할 때 쓸 수 있는 표현에 "You came in the nick of time." 이 있다.

여기서 'in the nick of time' 은 '아슬아슬한 때에' '꼭 알맞은 때에' 라는 뜻으로 가령 "You came in the nick of time. I didn't think you would come." 하면 "꼭 때맞춰 오셨군요. 못 오시나 했습니다. " 가 되며, "You came in the nick of time.We almost left you behind." 하면 "꼭 때맞춰 오셨군요. 하마터면 당신을 두고 떠날 뻔 했어요. " 가 된다.

"You came in the nick of time." 과 비슷한 표현에 "You came just in time." "You came with no time to spare." "You came not a second too late." 등이 있다.
