골퍼들의 평생 소원은 hole in one이다.hole inone은 골프 경기에서「골프공을 한번 쳐서 홀에 집어넣는 것」을 말하는데 『He got a hole in one.』하면『그는 홀인원했다.』가 되며『All the golfer s dream about a hole in one.』하면 『모든 골퍼들은 홀인원을 꿈꾼다.』라는 뜻이다.참고로 hole in one은「한번에 성공하기」라는 뜻으로 쓰기도 하는데 가령,『He got a hole in one on a sale.
He was able to sell a customer a computer in ten minutes.』라고 하면『그는 단번에 판매를 성사시켰다.한 고객에게 10분만에 컴퓨터 한대를팔 수 있었다.』라는 뜻이다.
