415. Speak of the devil

devil, 즉 악마는 미국 속담에 자주 등장합니다. 'The devil has the best tunes'(악마는 멋진 가락을 지니고 있다; 나쁜 짓일수록 즐거운 법), 'The devil take the hindmost[hindermost]'(뒤진 자 귀신이 잡아 간다; 빠른 자가 장땡) 등입니다.

A:I don't know about you, but I'm not gonna put up with Steve anymore.
B:What's he done to you this time?
A:It's not what he has done to me. It's his character altogether.
B:Well, he can be rather pushy at times, but that's just his style.
A:Speak of the devil. Never mind.

A:넌 어떨지 모르겠지만, 난 더 이상 스티브를 참을 수 없어.
B:이번엔 네게 무슨 짓을 했는데?
