672. Don't use four-letter words.

욕이 보통 네 글자(예를 들면 hell, damn, shit 등)로 많이 쓰여 유래된 말로 "Don't use bad words" 대신 쓰는 표현입니다.

A:Kenny, what do you think of our new vice president?

B:He strikes me as a mean SOB. He uses a lot of four-letter words, doesn't he?

A:Yes, he does.

B:Did you attend the board meeting yesterday?

A:Yes, I did. It was a helluva meeting. Everybody called everybody names. They exchanged lots of four-letter words. They swore a lot.

A:케니, 새로운 부사장은 어때?

B:인상이 아주 안 좋아. 말끝마다 욕을 하잖아, 안 그래?

A:맞아.

B:너 어제 이사회에 참석했었니?

A:응, 했지. 대단한 회의였어. 모두 서로 헐뜯고 욕설을 주고받았었지. 욕도 많이 했어.

(예) Don't swear. (욕하지 마. '맹세하다'의 뜻도 있으나 '욕하다'의 의미도 있다. )
Don't call anyone names. (누구에게도 욕하지 마라. )
