The subway was packed.

전철에서 시달리며 출퇴근하는 분들이 많은데“지하철이

만원이었다.”라고 하려면 The subway was packed.라고 한다.“The subway

was packed so I had to wait for a relativel

y empty train.”이라고 하면“지하철이 만원이어서 비교적 덜 붐비는 차를

기다려야 했다.”라는 뜻이며,“Because the subway was packed, I stood all

the way to my stop.

”하면“전동차가 만원이어서 내릴 곳까지 줄곧 서 있었다.”가 된다.“The

subway was packed.”와 비슷한 표현에“The subway was really

crowded.”“The subway was heavily c

ongested.”등이 있다.반대로“전철이 텅 비었다”라고 하려면“The subway

was empty.”라고 한다.

A:You look like you slept on the street!

B:I know! My clothes must look all wrinkled.

A:What happened to you?

B:I took the subway during rush hour for the first time.

A:It must've been quite a shock

B:I'll say, the subway was packed.

A:너 길거리에서 잠 잔 것같다.
