볼리비아 라파스에서 24일(현지시간) ‘아라시타(Alasitas)’ 전통 축제가 열렸다. ‘아라시타’는 '행복의 신', '풍요의 신'으로 불리는 에케코(Ekkekko)를 기리기 위한 축제다.
볼리비아 인들은 원주민(인디오)의 모습을 한 에케코에게 자신의 소원과 관련 있는 미니어처를 들려주면 그 소원이 이뤄진다고 믿는다. 에케코 인형들이 돈과 각종 소품으로 칭칭 감겨있는 이유가 바로 이 때문이다. 사람들은 축제 기간 동안 에케코가 소망을 이뤄주길 바라며 자신이 원하는 미니어처를 구입한다. [로이터=뉴스1]
