Danny :What about other animals?

Richard:Can you narrow it down a little?

Danny :How would you feel if I got a monkey?

Richard:A monkey would not be OK. I have a problem with wild animals, Danny. If there's going to be a pet at all, it will have to be a domesticated one. How about a fish?

D:다른 동물은 어때요?

R:좀 더 구체적으로 말한다면?

D:제가 만일 원숭이를 키운다면 어떠시겠어요?

R:원숭이는 안될 것 같은데, 야생동물은 곤란하고, 만일 애완동물을 키우겠다면 집짐승이어야 하네. 물고기는 어떤가?

'have a problem with~' 는 어떤 것에 대해 상대방과 다른 의견을 갖고 있을 때 사용하는 표현으로 "Do you have a problem with that□" 하면 "거기에 불만 있어요?" 라는 뜻이다. 한편 'narrow down' 은 '범위를 좁히다' 는 뜻으로, 가령 "The police have narrowed down their list of suspects." 는 "경찰이 용의자 범위를 좁혀 가고 있다. " 가 된다.
