278. It’s been three days in a row

‘일렬’이라는 뜻의 row를 이용한 ‘in a row’는 어떤 일이 연속적으로 일어날 때 쓰는 표현입니다.

A:What’s going on? You look terrible.
B:I didn’t sleep at all last night.
A:Really?
B:Yeah. And it’s been three days in a row.
A:Why? What made you have trouble getting sleep?
B:It’s my work, you know. I just can't stop thinking of it.

A:무슨 일이야? 꼴이 말이 아니네.
B:어젯밤에 한숨도 못 잤어.
A:정말?
B:응. 연속 삼일째 못 잔거야.
A:왜? 왜 잠을 못 자는 건데?
B:일 때문이지 뭐. 일 생각을 잠시도 멈출 수가 없어.

If a team wins the championship three times in a row, they keep the cup. (만약 한 팀이 세 번 연속 우승하면 우승컵을 소유할 수 있다.)
The serial killer is waiting on death row. (그 연쇄 살인범은 지금 사형 집행을 기다리고 있다.)
A big row on the Internet is about the government’s policy. (인터넷에서 벌어지고 있는 뜨거운 논쟁은 정부 정책에 관한 것이다.)
