우리말로'조퇴하다'고 할 때 쓸 수 있는 적절한 표현에 'take the

rest of the day off'가 있다.여기서'take~off'는'~를 휴무하다''~를 쉬다'는 뜻으로 “I took the rest of the day off.”하면“그 날의 남은 시간을 쉬었다.”, 즉 “조퇴했다.”는 뜻이

고,“He took the last Wednesday off as he didn't feel well.”하면“그는 지난 수요일 몸이 불편해 쉬었다.”는 뜻이다.“I took the rest of

the day off.”와 유사한 표현에 “I left early.” “I went home early.”

“I had the rest of the day off.”등이 있다.참고로'~를 휴무하다''~를 쉬다'는 뜻의'take off'는 항상 분리시킨다.
