Please give me two orders of French fries.
식당에서 같은 음식을 2인분 이상 주문할 때가 있는데 이런 경우 「주문」의 뜻을 나타내는 「order」를 복수로 써서 표현할 수 있다.가령『프렌치 프라이 2인분 주세요.』라고 하려면『Please give me two orders o f French fries.』하면 된다.『프라이드 치킨을 먹겠습니다.3인분으로 해서 주세요.』라고 하려면『I'll have fried chicken.
Please make it three orders.』하면 된다.「order」대신 「hel ping」「serving」「portion」을 써서 같은 의미로 표현할 수 있다.
따라서 『Please give me two orders ofFrench fries.』대신 『Please give me two helpings of French fries.』『Please give me two servings of French fries.』『I'd like to have two portions of French fries.』등으로 해도 같은 뜻이다.
