a wink는 눈을 한 번 깜박하는 것으로, didn't sleep a wink는 '눈을 잠깐도 붙이지 못했다'는 의미가 됩니다.
영어에는 이처럼 잠을 자지 못했을 때 쓰는 재미있는 표현들이 많이 있습니다.

▨ CONVERSATION ▨
A:I can't believe my neighbors. Those new neighbors are really weird.
B:Why? What did they do?
A:They had the nerve to tango till 2 in the morning!!
B:What a nuisance. I guess you didn't sleep a wink last night.
A:Tell me about it.

A:이웃집 인간 해도해도 너무 하는군. 정말 이상한 인간들이야!
B:왜? 그들이 어쨌는데?
A:뻔뻔스럽게 새벽 2시까지 탱고를 춰대는 거야!!

I couldn't catch some Z's last night.(지난밤에 전혀 잠을 못 잤다.)
I haven't got any shut-eye since the last night before last.(그저께 밤부터 눈 한번 붙이지 못했어.)
