상대방이 어렵고 상식에서 벗어난 것을 요구하는 경우“무리한 일입니다.”고 할 수 있는데 적절한 표현에“It's a tall order.”가 있다.여기서.tall'은.터무니없는,어려운'의 뜻으로,가령 “It's a tall o rder to fill.”하면“감당하기 힘든 무리한 일이다.”는 뜻이며,“It's a tall order to organize my filing cabinet.”하면“내 캐비닛을 정리하는건 보통 일이아니다.”는 뜻이다.
