No,I goofed it up.
「slang(속어)」중 「망치다」라는 뜻으로 자주 사용되는 관용어에 「goof up」이 있다.
『Did you do well on your test?』(시험 잘 쳤어?)라고 묻는 친구에게 『아니,망쳤어.』라고 하려면『No,I goofed it up.』하면 되고,『내 차를 엉망으로 만들어 놨구나.』라고 하려면 『You goofed u pmy car.』라고 하면 된다.
「goof」를 명사로 쓰면 「얼간이,멍청한 실수」라는 뜻이 되는데 『Who made this silly goof?』라고 하면 『누가 이 멍청한 실수를 했지?』라는 뜻이다.
참고로 「goof off」나 「goof around」는 「할일 없이 빈둥거리다」는 뜻이다.
