사전계획 없이 순간적 기분으로 물건을 샀을 때 "충동구매했다.

" 고 하는데 영어로는 "I bought it on impulse." 라고 한다.

여기서 'on impulse' 는 '충동적으로' 라는 뜻으로,가령 "I bought it on impulse after the saleswoman gave me a huge discount." 하면 "그 여성 판매원이 대폭 할인해 주자 나는 그것을 충동적으로 구매했다. " 가 되며, "When I saw everyone around me buying the fancy doll, I bought it on impulse." 하면 "주위의 모든 사람들이 다 그 장식 인형을 사자 나도 덥석 구입했다. " 는 뜻이 된다.

"I bought it on impulse" 와 비슷한 표현에 "I bought it without thinking." "I bought it without planning to." "I bought it on the spur of the moment." 등이 있다.

A:Honey, what have you done?

B:I bought a new lawn mower for our lawn.

A:There's nothing wrong with the old one.

B:But, the salesman gave me a great deal.

A:I think you will regret this purchase. Why did you do such a thing?

B:I think I bought it on impulse.
